Margot has combined a love of sport and a passion for teaching since her teens when, after becoming Scottish Junior Table-tennis Champion, she was asked to coach younger players. She also coached hockey having played for Scotland at schoolgirl, under 23, University and full international levels.
She then turned to golf. First in the Netherlands where she gained her NPGA Diploma and taught for 5 years and then in Scotland where she gained her British PGA Diploma and has been teaching since.
Margot has a Degree in Education and a Secondary School teaching qualification. She also studied Mathematics, Anatomy, Physiology and Biomechanics. All of these combined to make the golf swing utterly fascinating and a constant source of learning.
There is a lot of information out there about the golf swing but I cannot emphasise enough the importance of having a trained Professional analyse your swing. When a fellow player sees something “wrong” it is, more often than not, a result or consequence of something that occurred earlier in the swing or even at address. As a result it’s like treating the symptoms without looking at the disease – AND IT DOESN’T WORK!
